Nieuw: Wubbo Ockels Innovatieprijs

De Groene Grachten heeft een duurzaamheidsinitiatief opgezet dat de drie beste duurzame ideeën beloont met 10 duizend euro. De organisatie, die monumenten verduurzaamt, was in 2012 het laatste initiatief uit de koker van oud-astronaut Wubbo Ockels.

Ockels werkte vanaf 1992 als hoogleraar duurzame technologie aan de TU Delft. Hij was geïnspireerd geraakt door de blik op de kwetsbare blauwe planeet in de lege ruimte. In Delft verbond hij zijn naam onder andere aan de Nuna zonnewagens, de zonneboot (tegenwoordig Hydro Motion Team) en de laddermolen (nu: Kitepower).

En nu is er dus de Wubbo Ockels Innovatieprijs voor de beste duurzame ideeën op het gebied van klimaatadaptatie, biodiversiteit, CO2-neutraliteit, circulariteit en leefbaarheid.
