TU Delft to host Master Event

TU Delft will host the annual Master Event on November 20, 2014. Information on all thirty-five master’s courses will be available with all university faculties represented.

There will also be information available on sport and culture at TU Delft as well as groups and organisations catering to the international community.

With over a thousand prospective master’s students expected to attend, TU Delft will provide general information on TU Delft 2015 master’s programmes at the information market as well as more course specific information as part of the master’s programme presentations. In addition, TU Delft has decided to incorporate an additional element to the day’s activities in 2014; a programme for international students aimed at providing a window into the life at TU Delft and the Netherlands.

Prospective international students will be able to take part in a speed date aimed at introducing them to current international students who are studying their desired master’s programme. With more than a hundred nationalities represented at TU Delft it is likely that prospective international students will be able to speak to someone who is not only completing their desired course but also from their home country.

The international portion of the Master Event will be open to those who have completed a bachelor’s degree in a foreign country and who wish to enrol for a master’s programme at TU Delft. The non-international specific portion is open to third and fourth year HBO students, almost or recently graduated bachelor’s students from Dutch universities and TU Delft students who are looking for a master’s programme in a different a field of study, in a different faculty or for double degree options. These students may be international students who have studied their bachelor’s degree at a Dutch university.

When asked if the outcome of the event was to increase student admissions for Master programmes in 2015, Yvon van der Meer, manager of communication for the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management, indicated that it was rather that “The university is striving to link the right master student to the right master’s programme.”

For detailed information on times and locations for the different events and activities as well as registering for the Master Event should you wish to attend please visit their website. Registration to attend needs to be completed prior to November 17, 2014.
