The final week

When things finally came together on the last day we realized that we made it. Eight weeks of hard work resulting in over a hundred pages of report. All that is left is a spell check and a presentation for the people at the laboratory we have been working at.

At 5 o’clock the presentation was done and the report almost finished when we got a message from our supervisor. On Wednesday we should do the presentation but due to lack of electricity in the building for that day, according to her we would not be able to do the presentation. She proposed to do the presentation next week. Unfortunately this was not possible because we should already be gone to the Netherlands by then! After those weeks in Colombia we were already used to the way thing work around here and it did not even stressed us out anymore. Finally on Wednesday we received a message that we could do the final presentation on Thursday.

After inviting all the people we got to know in Colombia it was time to do the presentation. Marlies and Karel held a good presentation and almost no questions were asked in the room. If this was because the presentation was so good or they did not understand it all, that is the question. But for us it was a big relief to end the project.

On Friday we bought the last souvenirs and had last supper with all our friends here. At the end of the evening we had time to say goodbye to all the good friends we made in Colombia. On Saturday it was time go to the airport and go home.
