Minister also wants more guidelines for support for participation

Minister Dijkgraaf wants national guidelines not only for the financial compensation of members of participation councils, but also for their training and support.

The minister responded this week in the Lower House to questions and motions in response to the Participation Monitor published this spring. Lisa Westerveld (GroenLinks) wanted to know the status of the intention to equalize the compensation for participation council members more. Now there are large differences per institution and faculty.

In a new motion, which could count on a majority, Paul van Meenen (D66) pointed out that 11.5 million euros are available between 2022 and 2025 for the strengthening of employee participation.

About the fees, according to Minister Dijkgraaf, talks are already being held with student organizations and institutions. “We are working hard on that. I think I will be able to say more about it in the spring.” He also wants to include the facilitation of participation in those talks. “So I say yes to guidelines,” the minister said, provided they can be filled in flexibly.
