Campus

Join the Dutch skating tradition. It’s on!

Winter may be late coming this year, but despite that, there is already a thin layer of ice at X. The Winters Delft covered skating rink on campus has been ready for a month.

After being built at the Markt and at Lijm & Cultuur, this year X is the wintry backdrop for Winters Delft’s 800 m2 covered rink. New additions this year are the curling and 100 m2 children’s track.

By building the rink on campus, the organisation hopes to bring the residents of Delft closer to life at TU Delft. It is also an easy way for international students to get to know this age-old Dutch skating tradition.

Despite it being too warm for the time of the year, the ice fun is set to continue. The skating rink is open every day from 09:00 to 21:00 up till Sunday 6 January.

Prices
Online tickets cost EUR 5.50 and at the door cost EUR 6.
X card holders are lucky as they can get on the ice for only EUR 2.50.Ice-skates can be rented for EUR 5, or you can use your own as long as they are not speed skates or clap skates.

Tip: don’t forget your gloves – you won’t be allowed on the rink without them!
