The Inspectorate of Education expects to publish its report on transgressive behaviour and finances at TU Delft in March. According to a spokesperson, it covers a wide-ranging investigation.
The spokesperson explains that the draft report is ready and that the TU Delft Executive Board has seen it and sent a response on 12 January.
Upon request, the Executive Board had been granted more time than usual for this. In contrast to a standard response time of two weeks, TU Delft was granted eight weeks. The Inspectorate of Education spokesperson explained that this extra time was granted because of both the holiday period and the length of the report. “We have had many interviews,” he explained. He does not wish to discuss the content of the report.
Public
The spokesperson says that having read the Executive Board’s response, the Inspectorate of Education knows what it needs to do. He cannot add any substantive information. What he can say is that the Inspectorate intends to finalise its report on TU Delft in mid-February.
The report will be made public three weeks after that, so in March. Within that three week time frame, TU Delft has the right to try to prevent its publication through the courts. The spokesperson says that this does happen with Inspectorate of Education reports occasionally. TU Delft can also use the three weeks to prepare its communications about the findings.
If the report about alleged transgressive behaviour at the workplace and about finances is indeed published in March, it will be about 15 months after the Inspectorate of Education’s call to all employees which started the process. Is this a long time? The spokesperson cannot say. “I do not know as it was the first time that we investigated social safety in higher education. But it was a very comprehensive investigation.”
