Twelve TU Delft staff members become Academy of Engineering fellow

The Netherlands Academy of Engineering (NAE), founded earlier this year, has appointed 62 fellows: people from the ‘top of the engineering ecosystem’. Twelve of them are connected to TU Delft. Besides rector magnificus Tim van der Hagen and dean of Applied Sciences Paulien Herder, they are Alessandro Bozzon, Jenny Dankelman, Irene Dedoussi, Arie van Deursen, Catholijn Jonker, Mandy Korff, Mark van Loosdrecht, Arjan Mol, Andrea Ramirez and Guoqi Zhang.

The fellows are to engage in “fostering an innovation climate that generates social and economic value by providing engineering-based solutions to major societal issues while providing new business and export opportunities,” according to the press release. Specifically, they will share knowledge, provide advice and encourage concrete innovation initiatives. From 2024, 10 fellows are to join each year. The first batch will be installed on 13 November, effectively launching the NAE. (SB)

Update 6 Novemver, 10:00 AM: Not eleven, as previously reported, but twelve TU staff members have been appointed as fellow. The twelfth is Mandy Korff.
