They put on their speed skates and took to the ice along with other skaters from around campus. Something like this doesn’t happen too often so onlookers stopped to snap photos of them on their smartphones.
“This is the first day we’ve been able to do this on campus,” said Judith Termote, a student from the Faculty of Architecture who is also a member of the club. “We contacted each other on What’s App and put up an invite on Facebook so people could join us.”
Effe Lekker Schaatsen, which means ‘Let’s Go for a Nice Skate’ in English, is a coed student club in Delft with over 160 members. You can learn more about the organisation, and how to become a member yourself, by clicking here. They welcome both newbies and experienced skaters.
