Support after earthquake Morocco
Many Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences are trying to assist staff and students dealing with the effects of the earthquake in Morocco. They are organising meetings and offering psychological support. TU Delft, in a short message on its website, announced that student advisors and supervisors (for staff) are ready for people who need help.
Students themselves have also taken action. The Rotterdam Islamic student association IQRA and the medical multicultural student association Avicenna, for example, are raising money together.
For some Moroccan students, the earthquake in disastrous. At two student houses in Marrakesh, residents lost 37 family members combined, reports Dutch newspaper NRC. The Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh has postponed its entrance exams, among other things. (HOP, PvT)
