This Tuesday, December 17th, there will be a party for all foreign students and staff members of TU Delft. The party will be held at the Blauwe Knoop, which is in the basement of the TU’s main building.

In past years, the only annual Christmas party for foreigners was the one organized and hosted by the MSc Office for MSc students only. But in September, the MSc Office was disbanded as part of a major internal reorganization at TU Delft. The activities of the former MSc Office have now been transferred to the ‘Students Facility Center’ (SFC) and the ‘Section International Relations’ (SIR). “The SFC is concerned with the affairs of all foreigners, instead of being like the MSc Office, which was only for MSc students,” says Mary Dotman, of SIR. “That’s why we’ve organized a party for all foreign members of the TU Delft.” Dotman can’t say how many people she expects at the party. ”We don’t know how many foreigners there are at TU Delft,” she says, ”but after phoning the faculties, we think we can count on about 150 foreigners showing up.” The Blauw Knoop, a small, dank place, will be packed then. Fortunately, Dotman says, it will be ”a standing reception, with drinks and something to eat. So everyone should fit in, and besides, it only lasts for two hours.”
