Elisa Weehuizen, a 21-year-old sociology student from Erasmus University Rotterdam, will become the new president of the National Students’ Union (LSVb). She sits on the programme committee of her study and plans to focus on, among other things, study financing, housing and “worrying conditions that seem to be the norm for international students”.

23-year-old Job Vermaas will be vice-chairman. He is studying political science at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). He was previously a board member at student union ASVA and a member of the central student council at his university. Julia van der Haring (also 23) will become a general board member. She is also studying political science, but at Radboud University Nijmegen. This year, she worked at the union’s secretariat and was active for the PvdA’s youth organisation, the Young Socialists.

Assala Driouichi (20) will be secretary. She studies chemistry at Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda. There, she was named Student of the Year 2022 for her commitment to increasing inclusion. She also sits on the Avans participation council. Treasurer will be Linda Huisman (22). She studies built environment at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, where she sits on the university council. She has administrative experience at student union VIDIUS, where she was also active as treasurer. (HOP, PvT)
