Radio broadcast from Green Village

Radio broadcast from Green Village

The Dutch radio station NPO Radio 1 will broadcast live from The Green Village on the TU Delft campus during National Climate Week. For six days, seven broadcasters will broadcast.

For the broadcasts, the co-creation centre located at The Green Village will be converted into a radio studio. Besides microphones, transmission and direction equipment, for example, there will be cameras for visual radio, places to receive studio guests and workplaces for editors, says TU Delft press officer Inge Snijder. “It’s fantastic that we can do this together with NPO,” says Snijder.

National Climate Week is an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and aims to inspire citizens to do more about the climate. Snijder: “Both TU Delft and NPO wanted to join this by organising a climate week themselves. NPO had The Green Village in mind.

For six days, a different radio programme will sound each time from The Green Village. “Although the programmes all have a different character, climate runs as a common thread through their programming during this week. TU Delft is a climate university so it is nice that Delft scientists will soon be able to contribute to radio items as well.”

National Climate Week – and TU Delft’s – is from Monday 31 October to Sunday 6 November. The following programmes will be broadcast from the campus:

  • Monday 31 October: Spraakmakers (KRO NCRV) 09:30 -11:30
  • Tuesday 1 November: Bureau Buitenland (VPRO) 13:30 -14:00
  • Tuesday 1 November Geld of je Leven (EO) 15:30 -16:00
  • Wednesday 2 November Villa Van den Berg (Omroep Max) 14:00 -15:30
  • Thursday 3 November: Live online via nporadio1.nl/klimaatstudio. Between 1pm and 2pm, there will be Q&A with the climate panel, where anyone can ask questions to climate experts and solutions will be discussed.
  • Friday 4 November: De Nieuws BV (BNNVARA) 12:00 -13:30
  • Saturday 5 November: De Publieke Tribune (HUMAN) 15:00 -16:00
  • Saturday 5 november: In de Kantine (WNL) van 17:00 -19:00
