The Delft mural ‘Mirá Mi’ has been nominated by StreetArtCities.com for the title ‘best mural in the world 2023’. Then TU Delft master student Parya Lotfi was involved in the realisation of the mural.

Mirá Mi is an ode to parenthood, says Lotfi. “The image is about the love and sorrow experienced by parents, especially fathers, who are denied the chance to see their children.”

Working together

Lotfi is now an alumnus. She previously explained to Delta how she became a part of NOBIS, a team of TU Delft students and Delft residents who work together on art projects. The mural was conceived by members of NOBIS and painted by artist Roelof Schierbeek, known by the artist name Beyond graffiti.

Mirá Mi is Papiamento for ‘watch me’. The artwork is inspired by a Rotterdam father who is no longer allowed to meet his son. The mural can be found in the Delft residential area of Buitenhof.

  • You can vote for the mural until Jan. 30 on the website of StreetArtCities.com.
