New board members for PNN

New board members for PNN

Anneke Kastelein (LUMC) is new chair of the Promovendi Netwerk Nederland (PNN), the interest group for and by PhD students. She succeeds Meaghan Polack, who is leaving the PNN board after two years.

PNN has also recruited four other new board members for the coming term. Marije Sluiskes (LUMC) will join the board as secretary and vice-chair. Marcela Martínez Ibarra (Vrije Universiteit) will work on external, international and fellowship PhD’s, Junfeng Zhu (Utrecht University) will focus on cooperation and support for PNN members and Roël Vrooman (Radboudumc) will start work as board member on conditions of employment for hospitals.

PNN plans to focus on the position of international, fellowship and external PhD students, among other things, in the coming period. “These groups have remained under the radar for too long, and there is insufficient visibility on the structural problems they face,” Kastelein said. PNN also wants to make information around the rights and obligations of PhD students more accessible. (AdB)
