FilmFilmhuis LumenTel. 015-214 02 26The Goddess Of 1967, thurs to wed.

19:30; The goddess appears to be none other than an old pink Citroën, which is what a Japanese guy and blind Australian girl drive across Australia, searching for the original owner. Stylish Road-Movie, influenced by photography, tv-adverts, video-art, and painting (and if you can think of anything else to add to this pretentious list you win a prize).

Memento, thurs to wed. 22:00, from the ever popular what-the-hell-was-that-all-about! school of filmmaking, this one makes no sense at all, but does so stylishly and fashionably. It plays in black&white, colour, the past, present, runs backwards, uses trick imagery and seemingly doesn%t make any sense at all unless you think it’s important enough to waste hours on trying to figure it out why/how a guy loses his short term memory and kills many violently. Tattoo’s, which are very in and cool nowadays, have a staring role.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, fri. 15:45, sun. 15:00; Everybody is kung-fu fighting in this critically acclaimed martial arts flick. Directed by Ang Lee, in Mandarin Chinese with Dutch subtitles.

15 Minutes, thurs to tues. 19:30 and 22:00 (sat. only at 22:00, sun. only at 19:30); A psychopath kills for ’15 minutes of fame’. But his fame lasts much longer than that once media sinks its teeth into the case.

Apollo

The Mexican, thurs to sun. 18:30 and 21:30 (sun. not at 18:30, but at 15:00); Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts bring A-list Hollywood star power to a film that beat ‘Hannibal’ at US box-offices. Gangster Pitt must smuggle a weapon, named the Mexican, into the US. His girlfriend, Roberts, ain’t happy about this turn of events.

Miss Congeniality, thurs to tues 18.45 (sun. also at 18:45); Sandra Bullock is out of the Bus into a bathing suit while Michael Caineplays[?] a fat old bastard in this action comedy about an undercover FBI agent.

Men Of Honor, thurs to tues 21:45; Ambitious sailor confronts bad-ass drill instructor (Robert de Niro). Good acting in this film about racism, but bogged down by a load of clichés.
