Lecturers Reint Jan Renes (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) and Janine Stubbe (Codarts Rotterdam) both received a Delta Premium for their practice-oriented research from outgoing Minister of Education, Culture and Science Robbert Dijkgraaf on 6 November 2023.

Reint Jan Renes researched how people arrive at sustainable behaviour that causes as little or no impact on the environment as possible. His research can make cities more sustainable.

Janine Stubbe studied the physical and mental health of students, dancers, musicians, circus artists and athletes. The aim is to prevent health problems and improve performance.

The biennial Delta Prizes of 500 thousand euros have been awarded since 2019. They are intended not only to recognise practice-oriented research, but also to highlight its importance.
