Delft computer scientist and pianist joins Young Academy

The KNAW platform for top young communicative scientists Jonge Akademie (Young Academy) has announced ten new members. One of them comes from TU Delft: Dr. Cynthia Liem (EWI), a computer scientist and a pianist. She works on issues relating to information filtering in search engines and recommendation systems and on overarching issues relating to result validation and validity. Within the Young Academy, Liem is keen to work on improving digital literacy, and on making the nuances behind data-driven science and decision-making more accessible to different disciplines and a wider audience. She will be officially appointed in March 2021.

Every year the Jonge Akademie selects ten new, talented researchers to strengthen its ranks. During their five-year membership, they support projects in the fields of science, science policy and science communication.
