The series ‘What’s Hiding in Delft’, highlighting objects and collections both around campus and in the city of Delft, was a back cover item for the Delta magazine. When the magazine stopped last month, this series as we knew it also came to an end.
The pictures have become a collection themselves
The pictures by photographer Marcel Krijger and texts by writer Damini Purkayastha (and some by Caroline Vermeulen) have become a collection themselves however. That is why Marion Vredeling of the TU Delft Library came up with the idea of turning them into an exhibition as part of the TU Delft 175th anniversary. You can see it until July 9th in the hall of the TU Delft Library.
The ‘What’s Hiding’ exhibition is connected to the exhibition ‘The City as an Archive; Delft Collections’ in the Prinsenkwartier. In it, architecture students examine the development of the city’s form, spaces and building typologies over time. It includes an introduction to the numerous collections within Delft and the university, views of the students’ designs for a new public building in the historical centre dedicated to these collections and models of buildings in other cities that have inspired their thoughts.
