CEG gets new dean

Stefan Aarninkhof will be the new Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CEG) from 1 January 2024. He succeeds Jan Dirk Jansen, who will return to focusing on research and education after more than five years as Dean.

Aarninkhof studied civil engineering at TU Delft. He then worked for Deltares and Boskalis. In 2016, he returned to TU Delft as a full professor of hydraulic engineering in civil engineering. He has been Chairman of the department of hydraulic engineering since 2020.

The Executive Board had been looking for a successor to Jansen since this summer. “The CEG faculty is a major global player. With his broad experience in research and industry and his extensive network within the civil engineering sector, Stefan Aarninkhof has everything it takes to uphold this reputation and to further expand the faculty’s societal impact.” (BK)
