20 million for delayed researchers divided

After four months of negotiations, 20 million euros have been allocated for researchers delayed by corona. More than 18 million euros will go to universities and over one million euros to various research institutes. 500 thousand euros have been allocated for young scientists who work abroad on a Rubicon grant. The latter group had asked for 1.5 million euros. This would enable all 100 Rubicon laureates to do three months more research. But according to the Dutch Minister of Education and Science, not all of them suffered from the crisis.  Some were able to continue working. Now that there is a ‘division key’, the amounts will be transferred to the universities and institutes concerned. How they use the money is up to them as employers. (HOP, Bas Belleman)
