DrukkerProf.dr. Jan Willem Drukker heeft deze week afscheid genomen van de TU Delft. Twintig jaar lang werkte hij bij Industrieel Ontwerpen, waar hij hoogleraar mens-productrelaties was.

De Delftse studentenwereld kent veel organisaties en verenigingen. Sommige daarvan leiden een onopvallend bestaan. Vandaag: Stitch ‘n Bitch Delft.

Het was de start van een onderzoek naar Belangrijke Zaken in opdracht van een ministerie. Ik zat in de begeleidingscommissie. Voor de eerste bijeenkomst was drie uur uitgetrokken.

Last week the university honored the top graduates of its eight faculties. Representing the TU’s foreign student contingent was Mariya Krymskaya, from Russia, who was deemed the best graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, while Helma van Rijn of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering took home the overall award as the ‘Best TU Delft graduate’ of the year.

“The phenomenon of technology outsourcing for cutting costs is becoming more relevant for TU graduates. All in all, we can agree that ‘outsourcing’ is here to stay for quite sometime and that we had better understand and cope with it, rather than let its complex implications affect us.

Young Academy Delft physicist Lieven Vandersypen, who currently works at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft, has joined The Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
