Website for free self tests will remain for a while
Students and teachers of universities can still order free corona self-tests from the national website zelftestonderwijs.nl. Previously, the plan was to close the site on 1 June.
This is what the Ministry of Education has announced. The website zelftestonderwijs.nl was launched a year ago. It is unclear how long it will remain open.
It is unknown how many students and staff members still make use of the possibility to order free self-tests. Last November it turned out that only three out of ten students and six out of ten staff members ordered the self-tests.
The distribution of the tests involves several hundred million euros. The previous Minister of Education, Ingrid van Engelshoven, reported two months later that the free self-tests hardly helped to make more physical education possible.
