Voting pencil on Marktplaats

Voting pencil on Marktplaats

In a number of municipalities, voters are allowed to take the red pencil home with them to avoid contamination with the coronavirus.  This is unique, because it is the first time that the voting pencils are not left behind at the polling stations. A voter from Delft saw a business opportunity in the collector’s item and put the pencil up for sale on the Marktplaats trading platform. The pencil appears to be in demand, the advertisement ‘Voting pencil Red 2021 – 1x used’ has been viewed 257 times and the highest bid is now at EUR 155. (MvdV)
