TU Delft rises in Global QS Subject Ranking

The World University Rankings by Subjects 2020, published today, places TU Delft in 15th place in the broad category of Engineering & Technology. In the disciplines Architecture/Built Environment and Civil & Structural Engineering, the university ranks second worldwide. The 13th position for Environmental Sciences is also noteworthy. In total, TU Delft has nine disciplines in the global top 20 and is the highest ranked Dutch university in eleven disciplines.

This is especially good news taken that the university dropped these last few years in another, more important ranking: the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Since 2014, TU Delft’s position has swung between 58 and 71 in this ranking. After going up in the last two years, TU Delft has now dropped to its 2016 place. Rankings, though very much criticised, play an important role in attracting talent from abroad. (TvD)
