Tram stop Aula relocated

When tram line 19 comes into operation in 2025, there will be no stop directly in front of the Aula. For safety reasons, it will be moved towards Jaffa Cemetery.

Recently, executor Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag (MRDH) presented a new schedule for the realisation of tram line 19, including artist impressions (images depicting a situation of which no photograph exists) of the tram stops on campus.

On these, the Aula stop seemed to have been moved quite a few metres from the Aula towards Jaffa Cemetery. An MRDH spokesperson confirmed this. “There has been a search to optimise the intersection near the Aula, where cyclists, buses, cars and soon also a tram converge.” Moving the stop should make the intersection on Christiaan Huygsenweg and Mekelweg, where pedestrians and cyclists cross, safer.

The spokesperson informs that the map with route and stops will be updated soon.
