The Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management (TPM) is part of a consortium that will investigate how best to fight the coronavirus outbreak. New models need to be developed to understand how the coronavirus spreads. The traditional models largely focus on infection rates and do not take into account the tremendous uncertainties associated with human behaviour in the response to an epidemic, says TPM researcher Tina Comes in a TU Delft press release.
In a newly acquired EU H2020 project called HERoS (Health Emergency Response in Interconnected Systems), Comes and colleagues at the Faculty of TPM will integrate behavioural and informational dynamics in epidemiological models. The project will be coordinated by the Hanken School of Economics and will include 11 partners, including three NGOs. (TvD)
