Sebastiaansbridge reopens 12 June
On Friday 12 June the new Sebastiaansbridge will reopen for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and public transportation. However, tram 19 will not run for the time being. This is what the board of mayor and aldermen writes (Dutch only) in a letter to the municipal council.
The delay is mainly due to a revision of the design for the electromagnetic compensation system, the system that minimises disturbance to research laboratories on the campus. Because there will be a new type of tram, which requires more compensation, the plan has to be modified. TU Delft and the metropolitan region of Rotterdam The Hague are working together to solve the problem, but let it be known that this will take at least a few more months. (MvdV)
