Sebastiaansbridge open again

The new Sint Sebastiaansbrug was officially opened on Friday 12 June. After more than fifteen months cars, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians are able to cross it again.

Although the new bridge is suitable for tram line 19, it will take some time before it will run. The delay is due to a revision of the design for the electromagnetic compensation system, the system that minimizes inconvenience to research laboratories on the TU Delft campus. Because a new type of tram will run, which requires more compensation, the plan needs to be modified. TU Delft and the Rotterdam Metropolitan Area The Hague are working together to find a solution, but let it be known that this will take at least a few more months. (MvdV)
