Running for a good cause

Running for people who cannot run. This is what more than 500 students did during the 6th CampusRun. They raised 3834 euros for this year’s good cause, the Dwarslaesie Organisatie Nederland (the Dutch paraplegia society).

This year, the run started near the Aula and coursed through The Green Village and the D:Dreamhall, finishing on the festival field near the Aula. The event included distances of 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km and 15 km. New this year was a relay race for teams consisting of four runners.

In all they raised 3834 euros of which 671 euros by Philips Berendsen, who had promised to run a distance of 10 km dressed as a clown. The money will be donated to the Dwarslaesie Organisatie Nederland, which helps people with paraplegia or caudal lesions. The CampusRun is an initiative of Gezelschap Leeghwater, the study association for mechanical engineering students at TU Delft.
