Power failure at Applied Sciences resolved
The Faculty of Applied Sciences (AS) on the South Campus was affected by a power failure in a nearby distribution station yesterday afternoon. As a result, hundreds of students and staff had to leave the building around 1pm due to safety concerns.
The cause was at the power distribution station to which the AS building is connected , reports a spokesperson for power grid operator Stedin. The distribution station had a malfunction, which could not be solved remotely. In consultation with TU, the power was then cut off, and the fault could be solved that same afternoon.

By now, the power has been switched back on and students and staff can enter the building again. To avoid problems during start-up and reopening, the faculty does advise working from home as much as possible today. The laboratories are still closed to undergraduate students. (RvdW)
