Nobel Prize for research on the cause of hepatitis C
Two Americans and a Brit have been awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine for their research on the cause of hepatitis C, a serious inflammation of the liver that claims millions of lives. The winners are Harvey J. Alter and Charles M. Rice from the United States and British researcher Michael Houghton. Their work has saved countless lives, according to the Nobel Prize Committee.
