Delft BlauwNext Sunday’s broadcast of the reality TV show ‘Delft Blauw’ has been ‘bought’ by Delft municipality. The municipality has given the residents of the student house Markt 9 an assignment: they must build the house of the future, and as a promotion for the municipality, Delft city hall (stadhuis) and the municipal plan will be featured in the broadcast.

Delft paid 42,000 euro for this week’s broadcast.
New dean

TU Delft’s Executive Board has appointed former Architect-General Wytze Patijn as the new Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. Patijn (58), who will also become a professor in the faculty, worked for the Netherlands Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment as Architect-General between 1995 and 2000, advising the government on architectural policy. Patijn also worked as freelance architect in Rotterdam and was the director of Kuiper Compagnons, a planning, urban design and landscape company. Patijn is a graduate of TU Delft.
Criminal record

The three students who last week in Delft tried to steal a small traffic pole at four in the morning will receive criminal records. The students are from Delft, Oegstgeest and Amsterdam. A police officer reported hearing one of the students say, “We can take this with us,” before he and his two friends began trying to pull the pole out of the ground. The officer apprehended the students, who then spent the night in jail. One of the students has been charged with attempted robbery.
