PermitsHilbrand Nawijn, Minister of Immigration, says he doesn’t have the money to reduce the high price of resident permits. All foreign students and teachers must therefore continue paying 430 euros for their resident permits.

The Dutch Parliament had asked for a drastic reduction in the price of permits, but Minister Nawijn said that undoing this measure, which would cost 1.2 million euros, comes at a time when his department already must reduce its budget by 20 million euros.

Spaceboxes

After the summer, more than 200 student rooms will be built on the TU campus. Built… these mobile rooms, or ‘space boxes’, will be piled up and provide shelter for the large group of new Master of Science students who are expected to attend the TU in September. The boxes will be located behind the Electrical Engineering building and rent for approximately 350 euros per month, which includes water, gas and electricity.

Sars

The International Relations Office of the TUD had send a letter to all Master of Science students. In the letter the ‘TU Delft has come to the conclusion that students from China, Hongkong, Singaproe and Taiwan should not travel to these countries from now on’. Also Dutch students and staff aren’t allow tot travel to these countries.

New MSc students arriving in August in Delft will be checked by the Student Health Organizations.
