Sports center gets half a millionThe Executive Board made a one-time-only 500,000 euro offer to the TU Delft Sports center. The money is to be used for optimizing the existing sports facilities.
According to Gerard Boogards, manager of Sport and Culture, the gift was made because in the coming years there won’t be any means available for ambitious long-term plans. The Sports center, the Delft Student Sport Federation (DSSF) and TUD’s Real Estate department are going to make suggestion on how to spend the money.
DSSF secretary Leonie van der Kuij thinks the money would be best spent on rectifying the shortage for changing rooms and rearranging the tennis courts. Rearrangement would mean there is space enough for three new courts.
Snow parties
In the mood for something different? Go to a snow run on Friday and Saturday night. Both ski runs at the Snowdome in Den Haag and Snowworld in Zoetermeer have party-nights then, when you can practice your snowboarding and skiing moves and learn new tricks.
The real daredevils are to be found on Friday nights at the X-treme Night in Den Haag, where hammering beats and a spectacular lightshow bring freestyle boarders and skiers to extreme heights.
A DJ will also play on Fridays in Zoetermeer at the piste.
Not in a mood for boarding and skiing? On Saturday, Snowdome hosts ‘Disco of snow’ and at Snowworld, there’s ‘Disco Night’.
