Signalcounters, which are currently used to calculate each student’s share of the phone bill, will no longer work. The student societies of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology & Systems have organised a contest for students to design a solution to this problem. The best entry wins fl. 2,500. Professor Jens Arnbak is a member of the jury: ”A device that registers which phone is used for how long is child’s play. There are two conditions to receiving a zalmsnip: you must’ve been registered as a Delft citizen on January 1 of this year and you must be over 18 years old. To obtain the zalmsnip, students must fill in a special application form, available at the VSSD (student union of Delft) on Poortlandplein 6.
