New tenants’ association for students
In many cities, student tenants’ associations protect students’ tenancy rights. Now they have their national umbrella organisation: Landelijk Overleg Studentenhuurders (LOS). Ten clubs are affiliated with the new tenants association, including WijWonen Delft.
The new tenants association wants to make a fist on a national scale, because the housing shortage among students is getting completely out of hand, says Daan Roovers, one of the initiators of LOS. “Sometimes students find housing in their third year. We want more affordable and sustainable rooms for students, better legal protection and a smooth transition from student to starter.” (HOP, BB)
