New board for student organisation ISO
The 20-year-old Demi Janssen from Maastricht was elected on Tuesday evening as the new chairman of the Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg (ISO). Her fellow board members study in Utrecht, Rotterdam and Nijmegen.
The ISO is one of two national organisations that represent the interests of students in politics. The constituency consists of students from central participation councils at universities of applied sciences and universities.
The other national organisation is the Landelijke Studentenvakbond (National Student Union), which also elected a new board earlier this month. It has its roots in the local student unions. The new management is now being trained. It will take over from the current board from 24 June.
