Nanoparticles win STARTUP competition

VSParticle won the STARTUP competition at the YES!Delft Students Entrepreneurship Forum in the Aula on February 24, 2015.
“Starting a business is more than just having a good idea”. That is the main message of the three keynote speakers at the Entrepreneurship Forum.

The six finalists of the STARTUP competition already live by this message.

The prize for the largest student entrepreneurship award in the Netherlands is a three month long summer school at MIT to help make entrepreneurial ambitions reality.

The six startups: PowerWindow, VSParticle, Atmos UAV, Samsara, Beacon en CoH co., received a pitching training from jury member Arthur Tolsma to help prepare them for the event. Over, the final pitches were well received. After a few critical questions and a period of deliberation, the jury announced their winner. The jury judged the teams on the following criteria: “Is it a real TU Delft technology? Is it close to the market? And which team would gain the most from the MIT summer school?”

Tobias Pfeiffer and Aaike van der Vlucht of VSParticle were very excited when the jury announced them as the winning team. “I am simply very happy, the trip to MIT will open doors and gives us the opportunity to broaden our network quickly,” said Aaike. Their technology turns the application of nanoparticles in products from a complex, time-consuming multistep process into a quick single-step process and creates opportunities to integrate nanoparticles into mass production.
