Low turnout student council elections

Despite the fact that the elections for the student council were as always held online this week, the turnout is low. 27.9 percent of TU Delft students voted for the council for the academic year 2020-2021, compared to 35.4 percent in 2019. There has been a downward trend for some time now. Turnout was 44.2 per cent in 2017 and 38.1 per cent in 2018. As in previous years, the distribution of seats will not change. Oras maintains seven seats and Lijst Bèta three. In the coming academic year, the student council will consist of students from five faculties: EEMCS, CEG, AS, AE and 3mE. Contrary to this year, there will be no international student on the council. (SB)
