Library cleared due to fire alarm
Around noon, the siren went off in the TU Delft Library. Those present in the building were urged to leave the building as soon as possible via the designated exits. About ten minutes later, a fire truck stood in front of the newly installed barrier in the parking lot and, after a brief delay, drove on to the side entrance of the Library.
The Fire Department did not need to take action. A smoke detector was found to have been activated, probably by an electric kettle standing too close to it. Shortly thereafter, staff and visitors were allowed back into the library, as far as they had not made the evacuation into an external lunch break.
