What responsibilities does innovation bring in a world where geopolitical tensions are rising? On Tuesday 27 May Rob de Wijk, professor of international relations at Leiden University, will address this question. De Wijk is founder of The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, which conducts research on geopolitical and military issues.
After his lecture The new world order and TU Delft, De Wijk will enter into a discussion with Delft ethics professor Jeroen van den Hoven. The professors examine the impact of geopolitical developments on technical universities like TU Delft. What strategic roles does TU Delft have? And what does it mean, for example, that technologies designed for civilian purposes can also be used militarily?
The lecture and discussion are organised by Studium Generale and Strategic Foresight & Innovation and will take place on 27 May at 17:00 in education building ECHO. Registration is required and can be done on the Studium Generale website.
