KPN Research interested in coming to Delft

The research department of KPN, the largest Dutch company for telecommunications and postal services, is looking to relocate and is seriously considering a move to Delft.

KPN research would like to be located close to TU Delft, because maintaining close contacts with the faculty of Information Engineering and Systems is important for the company. And TU Delft’s executive board are eager to welcome KPN in the TU area, according to real estate advisor, R. Hoyng: “In principle, the campus is meant for research and education. But for KPN, we would like to make an exception.” Hoyng thinks the two hockey fields at the Schoemakerstraat could be an excellent location for KPN. If TU Delft and KPN do reach an agreement, KPN won’t relocate to the TU campus until 2003.
