Integrity investigation into majorana publication comes later

It is not yet known when the integrity investigation into the making of the Nature article Quantized Majorana Conductance will be completed. Earlier, TU Delft announced that the investigation would be ready early this week. Now that that deadline has not been met, TU Delft is not giving a replacement deadline.

In the contested Nature publication from 2018, researchers led by professor of quantum transport Leo Kouwenhoven wrote that they had detected majorana particles. Mistakes were made when processing the data. That is why Nature will retract the publication. This will probably happen in the week of 8 March. The question is how the errors came about and whether the scientific guidelines were violated. (TvD)
