Inflation allowance for Avans employees
Avans University of Applied Sciences in Brabant is giving its staff a one-off inflation allowance. Avans staff in salary scales up to and including 7 will receive an allowance of 400 euro gross, for scales 8 to 10 it will be 300 euro, and above that it will be 200 euro, reports Punt.
In addition, the allowance for working from home goes from two to three euros per day and Avans temporarily increases commuting expenses by six cents per kilometre. Moreover, employees who need it can hire a budget coach.
Breda University of Applied Sciences BUas preceded Avans at the end of September. Employees in salary scales up to and including 8 get a one-off payment of 370 euro net into their account there. For staff from scale 9 onwards, the allowance amounts to 185 euros.
Unlike some colleges, universities are not as far along. A spokesperson for universities association UNL recently informed that “there have not yet been any discussions to do anything outside the collective agreement”. For now, TU Delft is sticking to a reference on its intranet to general government measures and to the Social Fund of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (SFOCW), where employees of the ministry and educational and cultural institutions can get help with financial problems under certain conditions.
