Help Delft get rid of gas

Delft wants to be free of natural gas by 2050. To achieve this, the city must install heat networks through which hot water flows to heat houses. The plans call for a completely new heating infrastructure. The municipality wants to start with the construction of the infrastructure in twelve districts, in consultation and cooperation with the residents and companies as much as possible. But people who do not live in these neighbourhoods can also think along, during a climate hackathon. TU’s Social Innovation Platform and the Energy Club have joined forces with the municipality to organise the ‘Climathon’ on 17 and 18 November.

Climathon Delft 2021 is a 24-hour climate change hackathon that brings together the challenges of the municipality of Delft with the people who have the passion and expertise to solve them, attracting innovators, entrepreneurs, students, citizens and professionals to create innovative solutions to the city’s climate challenges, the organisers write on their website.
