Eind vorig jaar is Jerry Okpanachi (31) afgestudeerd bij scheikunde. Op dit moment volgt de Nigeriaan twee middagen in de week een cursus Nederlands bij de faculteit Techniek, Bestuur en Management.

De rest van de week is hij werkzaam als process engineer bij KCI in Schiedam. De drinkbekers die voor hem op tafel staan, zijn gemaakt van bamboe. In Nigeria wordt er palmwijn uit gedronken. Hij drinkt het liever uit deze bekers dan uit een glas, omdat de ‘bambucups’ dichter bij de natuur staan. In Delftse winkels heeft Okpanachi helaas nog nooit palmwijn aangetroffen.
