Do you want to know how politicians plan to solve major social problems in the coming years? TU Delft, Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam are organising the election debate “Futureproof, the Netherlands in transition”, which will take place on Thursday 9 October in the auditorium of TU Delft. Experts will introduce three topics, after which politicians will debate and the audience can ask questions. The event is Dutch spoken.
The themes are: Resilience, a resilient society now and in the future (Dr Ernst Dijxhoorn and Dr Rogier Creemers, Leiden University); Care and innovation, a fair, efficient and economically responsible healthcare system (Prof. Maaike Kleinsmann, TU Delft and Prof. Douwe Atsma, Leiden University); and AI and technological developments (Prof. Rob Zuidwijk, EUR and Prof. Geert-Jan Houben, TU Delft).
Representatives of the political parties BBB, CDA, CU, D66, GroenLinksPvdA, SP, SGP, Volt and VVD will be present.
The programme starts at 6 p.m. (5 p.m. doors open). If you register, you will be able to ask questions to the debating candidates. Thursday 9 October 2025, auditorium TU Delft.
