Chamber: reopen education on campus quicker

The Cabinet must ensure that students receive more frequent physical classes. Two parliamentary motions urging this were adopted without dissenting votes on Thursday evening, 25 February.

While the election recess has officially begun, the Lower House still made all kinds of decisions last night. The resumption of one-and-a-half-metre tuition at colleges and universities was high on the agenda. Several groups had made their case for this during a major corona debate on Wednesday.

D66 and ChristenUnie called on the Cabinet to enter into talks with the higher education sector about a faster reopening. GroenLinks, PvdA, SP and PvdD want institutions to be given the opportunity to allow all students to come to campus for a part of the day each week. Both motions were adopted unanimously.
