Professional magazine De Ingenieur has nominated three women for this year’s Prins Friso Ingenieur Prize, informally known as ‘engineer of the year’. From today (14 Feb 2023), you can cast your vote on the kivi website. Do so before 14 March. All three nominees have Delft roots.

 

Kersushia Lutchmiah graduated in Santiago de Compostella and received her PhD from Delft’s Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CEGS) in 2014. She now works as a sewer water specialist at Royal HaskoningDHV.

 

Simone de Rijke, civil engineering consultant and parametric design team leader at engineering firm Antea Group, graduated in 2015, also from the CEGS Faculty.

 

Jacqueline Scherpen graduated from the University of Twente in 1994, then worked as an assistant and associate Professor at TU Delft until 2007 and she is now Professor and Director of the Groningen Engineering Centre, part of the University of Groningen.

 

  • The winner will be announced on 15 March at the Day of the Engineer.
