Avans and VIAA best universities of applied sciences

 

 

The Keuzegids has again named Avans the best large university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. Of the medium-sized universities of applied sciences, VIAA is once again number one. 

 

For the twelfth time in 14 years, Avans from Brabant leads the ranking of large universities of applied sciences. It owes its top position mainly to its good programmes in the behaviour & society sector. A total of 16 Avans studies may call themselves ‘top programmes’. 

 

Among the medium-sized institutions, which generally score better than the giants in higher education, Christelijke Hogeschool Ede dropped to fourth place. Hogeschool VIAA from Zwolle, which knocked Ede off the throne last year, is again the winner. HZ university of applied sciences and Driestar Educatief are the new numbers two and three.

 

The Keuzegids hbo is based on the opinions of students in the National Student Survey that was carried out this spring. It also takes into account whether and how quickly students graduate. (HOP, HC)
